Reach Out to Women Exploited by the Commercial Sex Industry

Volunteer Training: Tuesday February 24,
from 6pm to 9pm

Volunteer at the New Day Drop In Center Where: New Day Drop In Center 2659 Kensington Ave. Philadelphia 19125
When: Monday through Thursday 11am-5pm, with nighttime hours
Wednesday and Thursday 9pm to 12am (Day shifts are broken up into shifts: 11-2, 3-5pm) What: The Drop-In Program Provides: -An opportunity to reach out to, connect, and build relationships with women being exploited by the commercial sex industry.
-A front-line service, enabling women to address immediate needs while offering them connections to other services.
-A venue where women, who are typically socially isolated, are welcomed into a judgment free community.
-A time to share food and stories in the center’s kitchen where women know they belong and are heard
"Be present with another in her humanity."
Please consider coming to the training and committing to volunteer one shift per month

This is the kind of work that may qualify for internship credit for GWS.  You would need to speak with Professor Jean Lutes promptly if you are interested.
